We’re small on purpose. Everything else about how this place works comes from that.
Who we are
Licensed for 10, and no plans to be bigger.
Latham is a licensed assisted living home on East Latham Street in Scottsdale. It’s owned and run by our family, and we’re licensed for 10 residents — never more than that.
We’re not a chain. There’s no corporate office, no regional manager, and no plan to grow. The people who own this home are the people who answer the phone and walk you through the door.
Ten is the number where our caregivers can genuinely know every resident — what they like for breakfast, who calls on Sundays, when something’s a little off. That’s the whole idea, and it doesn’t survive getting bigger.

The biggest complaint we hear about larger communities is turnover — a new face every week, and nobody who remembers who takes their pills with applesauce.
We keep a small, steady team, and we work at keeping them. When the same caregivers are here month after month, they notice the day something changes. That’s not a soft benefit. Catching things early is how people stay out of the hospital.
Licensing and oversight
Licensed, inspected, and accountable.
Latham is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services as an assisted living home. Arizona licenses homes like ours separately from large facilities, with its own rules for staffing, training, medications, food safety, and residents’ rights.
Inspection reports for any licensed Arizona care home are public. We’d encourage you to look ours up — and every other home you’re considering.
What we believe
A few things we won’t compromise on.

It should smell like a house.
If a care home smells like anything other than a house, something’s wrong with how it’s run. Notice this first, everywhere you tour.

Family isn’t company.
There are no visiting hours. Come at breakfast, come at nine at night, come every day. People whose families visit often do measurably better, and we’d rather make that easy than manage it.

We’ll tell you if we’re not the right fit.
We turn away families whose needs we can’t meet well. A move that doesn’t work out costs a family far more than an honest conversation does.

No one has to move at the end.
We work with hospice so residents can stay here through the end of life, in their own room, with the people who know them.
